Sunday night musings

So I’ve been a little off the radar this week…I’ve had a few things planned but with my parents coming up for thanksgiving among a few other things- well time slipped away and here we are. On Sunday. With little to nothing to show for it.
I had planned on doing a little “photo-tutorial” as to how I get my eyeliner precise and then the unmentionable happened. I had an allergic reaction to an eye cream. I had/have a hive type rash on my upper cheekbones and scaly skin, which,as you know, is not cute. The strange part is that it wasn’t until the third day that the full on rash took its form. I think sometimes we know things are supposed to plump and tighten and do certain things that we kind of look past a little irritation. Needless to say, it was when I woke up full rash that I thought to myself “oh god…what other signs did I miss??!” With that I would like to encourage you all to check and take a little more time to realize the signs before it gets too late. Luckily- when I realized what was going on I was able to combat it and the swelling went down quickly…but sometimes you don’t have that time and know how.

I’m still scaly.

Other then that, we had our holiday meeting this evening which was to kind of pump us up for the holiday season. I think the BEST part (you can all agree…because I know you will) was that we had a gratis exchange! So I got to swap products and ended up leaving with some awesome stuff (all I can say is two Guerlain products! Eeek!) so I have oodles to share with you 🙂

Hope you’re all doing well and staying healthy!
Take care lovelies!

FOTD (week?): Too much Lana Del Rey

As I’ve said before…music generally depicts what my face will look like that day. From the title I hope you’ve gathered that I’ve been listening to way too much Lana Del Rey. Something about that 60’s vibe just makes me feel a smidge sexy. Now I don’t have her well shaped lips, doe-y eyes, or red locks…but a girl can dream.

REVIEW: Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundation

I think one of the perks of working a part time job in the beauty industry is that you get to do brand training and learn about products…the other perk is you receive products to try out for yourself. You get to take your time and see how it feels, looks, and suits your skin/body/hair etc.

When we had training for Tarte, I was extremely excited. We got to sit one on one with the representative, play with the product, learn things, and ask questions. She then color matched me with the Maracuja Miracle Foundation, the matching concealer, and I got to pick out one of the new lipsticks they recently launched (this was about 1-2 months ago). I want to be perfectly clear that I did not have to pay for any of these products and they weren’t technically given for my blogs consideration- it was more of a “learn about it so you can discuss it with clients” type of situation. I also am just discussing the foundation today and the others possibly at a further date.

You can call me Annette!

Per usual….better late then never right? As I said before- I didn’t know I was allowed to dress up for work two Saturdays ago. This pissed me off…only thing that pissed me off more was the fact that I only worked that one day within the days allowed to dress up. Rude. Had I know I would have busted out and practiced a black swan look…wanted to do that since the movie. Maybe I still will for no good reason- but I’m off on a tangent. I got to work with some pretty, yet normal make up. I had barely beige color tattoo, a couple colors from the naked 2 pallet, benefit they’re real! Mascara, black gel liner and pink lips. But when I realize I could be a little more jazzed up and wear my Mouseketeer ears I got in disneyworld this past May…well I gussied it up. As I haven’t said before-maybe I have? I’m a Disney lover to the max. I just came to this revelation a couple years ago..but I’m happier when I’m meeting princesses- not being at work. I have 3 different pairs of ears from 3 different trips, mouse ears necklace which I love, and all sorts of crap my parents wouldn’t buy me when I was little…as for the make up (main reason for this post… Not therapy over my scarred childhood…) I extended my wing, and added some black glitter liner, a little more shimmer to the lids, darkened my brows more than usual and busted out my Kat Von D red liquid lipstick in outlaw. All I can say about it is that people are so much nicer to you when you’re dressed up as a Mouseketeer/Minnie! I got a cupcake, and a cookie, and candy. My boss, however, said I couldn’t wear my hat past the week…but the pin curl/bangs I could do whenever.

I hope you all had a safe and happy halloween- if they do that kind of thing around your parts…and if they don’t I hope you enjoy us Americans making jackasses of ourselves 😉

Later lovelies,

One lovely blog award!

So sometimes I feel like an ass… And forget to do things.

This is one of those times.

I had this lovely write up thanking product hoochie for the one lovely blog award and drafted it. And it sat. And then today I realized- well crap…is it too late? I voted ( as did scrappy, Elphie, and gabby) aaaand it’s never too late.

So thank you very much for the blog award ms.hoochie over at product hoochie(things that sound wrong but right for 100) and decided to push on with it 🙂

The rules say that I need to share 7 thingies about me with you…but what to share??!

1. Like love. If I could I’d travel back to the 50’s and love all the things. For a long time I tried to do authentic/reproductions of vintage hairstyles…but not so much anymore. I should probably get back to that aye?

2. I can’t do my makeup without music…and what music I listen to can affect what my make up looks like…darker music- darker make up. Rockabilly? Winged liner…etc.

3. At one time in my life I had 9 piercings. Get out of the gutter…nothing gross mostly in my ears. But I had regular holes gaged to an 8, second holes, 2 cartilage, an orbital ( I count as 2 holes because it was a b and it used 2 needles), and my navel. Of those I still have my normal lobes (unstretched), orbital, and navel.

4. I played rugby and lacrosse.

5. I danced in a national ballet feeder school and then hit puberty. No. More ballet career.

6. I have my bachelors in history with a slight concentration in women, science and medicine (my schools didn’t make you declare a specialty but that’s what I took a lot of and focused on.

7. I didn’t start fully wearing make up until I was in my mid-twenties…I used a little here and there but didn’t reeeally get into it until I was about 24.

Now for my nominees!
product hoochie
cowboys and crossbones
imagination is spicy
pink lady beauty
beautiful kayekie
girl in the glasses

I follow a ton of blogs on various platforms that I think are exceptional but these are some of the ones that got me into beauty blogging on WordPress and also I comment the most with 😀

As always thanks for the nomination again and thank you all for stopping by! Please check out all the beauties above and hopefully you enjoy them all as much as I do!

Later lovelies!
